Guyatone VA-60 Mixer

Vintage mixer with a good 3-band EQ and excellent sound when overdriven. Serviced, converted to 240v and the power amp has been removed.

We’re big fans of these old mixers – we’re not using the internal amps to drive speakers (hence removing the internal amp from this one), but taking a line out. The combination of the EQ, built-in spring reverb and effect send, plus the build quality, makes them versatile analogue units with a great sound.

As usual with us it’s a lot to do with what happens as you overdrive the inputs with synths, drum machines, drums or outputs from your DAW. If you’ve been following our adventures on Instagram or Facebook then you will have heard units like this in action.

One thing to note about this particular model (apart from the fact that it will no longer drive speakers) is the excellent three-band EQ – most similar units only have two-band.

Serviced and in excellent working order, although it should be noted that the spring on this is not as loud as on some others we have had – it’s still perfectly usable, you just can’t dial in as much as on similar units.

In very good condition with only a few signs of age – small scratches and scuffs to the face and a small amount of oxidation to the metal corners.
