Notes:
Remarkably clean and mostly original.
Has had three core mains cable fitted; they didn’t remove the
death cap so I have now done so.
A few caps replaced as they were leaking but the rest seems to be OK after a good clean.
It’s cathode biased so this looks after itself.
Valves are all vintage RCA, possibly original judging by how little it appears to have been used.
Tremolo works well without even swapping out caps.
Reverb now working well after some tweaking of the control. It’s a little unusual in that as reverb control is increased, dry level drops off so it’s more of a ‘mix’ control than
a reverb level like most, but this is not a problem.
Sounds great!
Not perhaps as loud as one might expect from four 6L6s, but these are wired up in a rather unusual fashion. We basically have two pairs, each with their own output transformer but fed from the same phase splitter valve (rather like some very early Marshalls).
IMPORTANT: the speaker output jack is a stereo jack, with one output transformer going to the tip and one to the ring. This I think is because it's designed to go with the matching cabinet which has two speakers wired in a similar fashion and has an intergrated stereo cable.
Condition
Voltage Information
110/120v unit. A step-down transformer will be required for use at 220/240v supplies. Please ask if you need advice on what to use. We do not recommend using cheap, generic Chinese mains transformers.
