HOW TO BID
IMPORTANT
Before making any bids please satisfy yourself with the condition as with all live auctions Caveat Emptor (BUYER BEWARE) applies.
What you receive will be what you see in the photos. Any accessories, power supplies etc will be shown if present. As viewing in person is not possible please ask if you require any additional information on the physical condition of the lot.
If an item has been tested in any way it will say so in the description. Unless otherwise stated in the description, all test results are simple inspections of basic functionality at the time of listing; an item shown to be powered up will not have been tested further. We do not inspect internally unless clearly stated in the description and offer no guarantee that items are complete internally. No warranty or guarantee is implied or offered and Soundgas Auctions accept no responsibility for any change of operational status after transportation. If in any doubt, please ask for more information or photos: please note that we require at least 24 hours’ notice before the auction begins.
As is usual practice with all auctions businesses - RETURNS ARE NOT PERMITTED
If you are not wholly satisfied with any answers or information provided, please do not place a bid.
BIDDING
New customers will need to register with Soundgas Auctions and will be asked to provide a bank card as a valid form of identification.
Commission bidding
If you can not bid live you can leave a commission bid by telephone, via our website, or email.
The auctioneer will carry out a commission bid on your behalf and will purchase the lot(s) as cheaply as possible against any other bids or reserves.
If identical bids are submitted the first commission bid received will take precedence; If the auctioneer is wrongfooted the room takes precedence; Absentee bidding via the website closes one hour prior to each auction start time, after this bids can only be accepted by telephone and are taken at the bidders risk.
Telephone bidding
Bid live on your telephone on lots over £1,000, a member of staff will phone you a few lots prior, if you do not answer we will keep trying but the auction will not be held up; we will not bid if we do not connect with you.
Internet bidding
This service is offered via Soundgas Auctions or Easy Live Auction with a 3% of hammer value surcharge; or (for live auctions only) via the-saleroom.com with a surcharge (see the-saleroom.com for their terms).
IMPORTANT: if you intend to purchase at the auction we recommend you use Easy Live Auction and select the flat fee option with of £3.00, as the alternative is to pay 3% of the hammer price on any winning bids. If you are just at the auction to browse then the percentage option is the one to choose.
POST SALE INFORMATION
The first working day post sale you will receive an invoice that will include shipping costs (buyers local to us will receive invoice without shipping costs) if you are coming to collect we will of course remove the shipping fees. If you have won multiple items (well done!) live outside of the UK or have large heavy items to ship it may take us up to 48hrs to work out a quote for you.
HOW TO PAY AND COLLECT
Buyer’s Premium is calculated at 15% plus VAT (18% including VAT) of the hammer price. This will be charged on the hammer price of each lot purchased and is payable regardless of geographical location.
For example hammer price is £100 the fee payable for item will actually be £118.
Some lots may have been entered into the sale by business sellers, in this case for UK bidders ONLY there will be an additional 20% VAT added onto the hammer price of the item.
IMPORTANT: Bidders outside the UK do not pay this additional 20% VAT on these items, however the "total fees" shown on the item include this which is misleading. Apologies for this confusing situation - we are required by law to show the full fees as payable by UK bidders and the website does not currently have the facility to detect bidder's location.
If you have any questions or concerns at all please get in touch!
Payment
Well Done! If you are successful in your bid and we do hope you are pleased with your purchase
Successful bidders will need to pay for the items 48 hours following the sale. Payment can be made by bank transfer, details of the account are printed on your invoice.
At the present time we are only accepting payments in pounds. Debit, credit cards and Paypal etc are not accepted for auction items.
Buyers outside of the UK please note we are currently only able accept payments in GBP if you wish to bid please ensure you are able to send your payment in the correct currency. We would recommend WISE for transfers to us in pounds.
Collection & Transportation
Once items have been paid for in full and necessary funds have cleared, items can be released to the purchaser.
We can post most items, subject to approval and recommend specialist carriers where necessary. Most small single lot items e.g. a pedal can be packed and shipped to the UK for a charge of £15.00 inc VAT.
We also ship worldwide and will provide a quote prior to the auction if required.
If you have bought a large item, a number of lots, or are purchasing from abroad please request a quote via the Easy Live Auction portal.
NOTE - we do not allow winning bidders to arrange their own courier collections. We have many years experience packing and shipping worldwide and only use the most reliable couriers we do not send anything through the UK postal system.
Trust us on this one, it may cost you an extra fiver but the chances of your new purchases getting lost or broken will be drastically reduced!
Alternatively you are welcome to collect - we would love to meet you!
Storage
Free storage of all purchased lots will be provided for five working days following the sale; thereafter a storage and handling charge of £5.00 plus VAT per lot per day for small items and £30 plus VAT for larger items (a large item is larger than 60cm square (eg synth/guitar amp etc) will be levied upon the buyer, as will all carriage charges incurred by the Auctioneers in having goods removed to storage.
All purchased lots uncollected within three working days of the sale will be transferred to the storage facilities off site and will be subject to the charges outlined above. No lots will be released until carriage and storage charges have been paid in full.
