Our appreciation for the CS series synths began with the CS-80 we had come in as a commission sale some time back, but now we are definitely fans of the whole range. The CS-30 represents good value - a great sounding, versatile analogue synth.

Top of Yamaha's original CS range, this is the version with the basic on-board sequencer. But it's the design and layout of this synth that really makes it stand out (even from the bigger CS family members). It's... not logical. It's not simple. It has lots of modulation routing options. It's confusing. And all this makes it GREAT if you want a machine that brings in some wildness, unpredictability and fun, but still with that Yamaha quality and depth. And the sounds that come out can range from pleasant, useful leads to insane, abrasive textures. Fire up the simple sequencer and you soon get totally lost...
