The Toyo Gakki DS-4 comes in three variants. This black version is different to the yellow and blue "Custom", and also the black "Promuzer". However, although it doesn't have the "Beat Sense" or cascade triggering, it also has some other differences in terms of both sound and function that mean it differs from the other models in some interesting ways.

One difference is that the tuning on these is stepped which makes jumping between notes is easy. In addition it has two sustain controls that allow some interesting performance options. Differences in the circuit mean this one has a particularly punchy, melodic sound - add the to that the differences in controls allowing all voices to be easily set to different notes and combined and/or de-tuned, and you have something that is definitely more "synth" than "drum synth".

Split Output Modification: This has been modified with separate outputs for each channel. There are no extra sockets etc as we do this via the DIN socket on the rear and supply a trailing lead with four 1/4" jack sockets.

VOLTAGE: Supplied with a new universal 15v power supply.

Condition

Very clean with minor signs of use/age - one or two slider caps have cracks in them. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information.
