Product Description
Surrey Electronics Spectrum Shifter for sale.
Only available because we have another in our studio.
You'll find scans of the manual in the photos for this listing.
Uses the same principle as units like the legendary (and even rarer) Bode frequency shifter. Ostensibly for "Howl Reduction" but capable of some very interesting effects. Essentially, unlike a pitch shifter, a frequency shifter does not preserve the harmonic relationships in the input signal. In practice this means the output quickly starts to deviate from what is going in and extra tones are added which then interact and interfere with the source producing new harmonics and drones. As you can perhaps imagine this is what we like about these units, and why we've had one in the studio for years...
Serviced and working well.
Mono input and output via 1/4" jacks on the rear.
