Product Description
This is a rare opportunity. How often do you see a Roland Jupiter 8 for sale in stunning near mint condition with factory fresh shine to the paintwork? There can be very few (if any) others as good as this left out there.
Serviced with Encore Midi - full overhaul/refurb performed by James Walker for the current owner.
We see other Jupiters priced high and described as mint, but with photos that suggest otherwise. This one is for sale on behalf of the owner, who paid a premium price to get the best Jupiter 8 we'd encountered (and then proceeded to lavish more on the refurb, Midi mod, and on a new flightcase). He's in no hurry to sell and while the market has certainly faltered recently, there are no others out there like this one. I feel the premium pricing is more than justified in this case.
Originally purchased by us from the second owner who had carefully cherished it for nearly four decades: always returning it to its custom built case after occasional use. If it were a classic car, it'd be described as being in concours condition. We sold it to the current owner who has asked us to find it a new home.
Comes with a full flightcase, original manual and brochure, Encore Midi fitted and felts/buttons etc replaced for the closest to perfection possible Jupiter 8.
Broker sale on behalf of the owner.
Original description:
When we're told that someone has a 'mint' synth, we always prepare for disappointment. The definition is subjective. We only use the word 'mint' to describe something that has absolutely zero signs of age: factory fresh/unused. The original owner of this Jupiter did use it - for a year, before his pregnant partner suggested that he seek a more reliable source of income - and the current owner has played it occasionally since, so it could not be, by our strict definition, mint. Except when the owner brought it to us and I opened the case, I had to admit that this one comes as close to that term for a used Jupiter 8 as is possible to get.
We'd never seen a Jupiter 8 screen in such pristine condition, nor the orange paintwork with original glossy sheen. There's some discolouration to the keys and light marking around the controls that show that this has been played, but it really is spectacularly good. Maybe there are a handful of other unused/cased examples out there that could claim to be in better condition, but this has to be amongst the best in the world. Please scroll through the photos to assess for yourself.
