Product Description
PPG Wave 2.3 serial number 1442 and Waveterm B for sale on behalf of the owner.
Located in Japan: shipping is at the buyer's expense and will involve having the synth professionally crated (or custom flight cases could be ordered if required).
The current owner purchased the whole system in perfect working order from FiveG in Tokyo in early May 2012 following a prior restoration.
He states:
“It’s been working without any hiccups since, other than the basis knob which is inaccurate and tight to turn, but still usable.
The Waveterm B is fine too. Since the power supply gets somewhat hot, FiveG had added some heatsinks on the back to ensure reliability. The disk drives are fine too.
The system disk and some sound disks are included in the sale.
The double-sided tape residue you see on the photos is from my own attempts to attach fans out of an abundance of caution to keep the Waveterm cool. The solution with double-sided tape was not reliable. I will remove the residue before shipping the unit. And I found that as long as the unit has plenty of general ventilation it will be fine.
I think the synth will need a battery replacement as a precaution.
Printed manuals are also included.
The system cable between synth and Waveterm is a bit corroded on the body of the plug but works well (terminals are fine). I suspect one can make/purchase a new cable for reasonable money regardless.”
