Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).

We're tape and disc echo specialists and always have a good selection of vintage echo machines. Check out our other listings for fully-serviced Binsons, Copicats, Echoplexes and Roland Space/Chorus Echoes.

As business sellers, we've sold many tape echoes in the past ten years; we understand how they should sound and function.

We guarantee that this machine will not disappoint.

This is a fine example of one of the most revered tape delays ever made: the Maestro Echoplex EP2. The EP2 and EP3 were famously used by Jimmy Page (and many others) on stage and in the studio with Led Zeppelin and Page & Plant.

Dating from around 1970, it features the noodletastic Sound On Sound facility which allows you to play along with a very long loop of yourself...

This unit is in good cosmetic condition for a 44 year old machine (see detailed photos below) and very good working order having recently had a full mechanical and electrical service. It's fitted with a reloaded tape cartridge and is performing well.

This is not a perfect-sounding machine - if you want that, then please see our listing for a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo (or buy a digital delay), which offers a more stable and reliable modern version of this unit - but this echo has bags of class and character, and of course that legendary warm valve preamp. This is a machine for someone who doesn't want perfect repeats, who enjoys the sound and effect of old tape (that wonderful warm chorus-like shimmer created by imperfect technology). It's for someone like me, who doesn't need it to withstand the rigours of touring, and who loves the sonic irregularities created by a combination of old tape and mechanical imprecision. It makes wild and wonderful noises when coaxed into self-oscillation and is a fine mix send effect for dub and sound effects - just move the pointer back and forth for instant gratification.

YouTube demo to follow soon.

It's a USA voltage machine (110v) so will require a step-down transformer for use in the UK/EU etc.

We also have a transition solid state EP2/3 for sale - see our other listings.

We are passionate about supplying high quality vintage gear to our customers and go the extra mile to ensure complete satisfaction.
