LEM Baby Echo Chamber
LEM Baby Echo Chamber
Brand: LEM
Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).
Funky little six channel Italian mixer echo from LEM. Serviced and modified to use a loop - originally it used the Sony endless cartridge which are now almost impossible to find.
It's been sitting in a corner of the office for some time, and has been overlooked as we always have more pressing items to test/list. We're clearing some items at lower prices to make space so this one is up for grabs. It is not perfect, but has character and is a good starting point for those on a budget, or just looking for a different sonic flavour that doesn't break the bank.
The tone controls (on each channel and on the master output) are very useable and can dial in or cut a good chunk of top/bottom end. It responds very favourably to being overdriven, and the ability to feed differing levels from each channel to the echo make it a useful little machine.
It was serviced and modified some months ago now. As far as we can tell from a quick test - see demo on Instagram - everything works though it doesn't self-oscillate. However the echo send knobs (bottom row on the front) will cut the echo out if you wiggle them. This may be fixable (though it might be a design fault). Many of the knob caps don't grip the knob shafts well enough so can spin when they reach the end of their travel, and one or two may be a little more difficult to turn, though this could be a result of it not being used much in the past few months. One knob cap is missing. Offered as a clearance item without our usual guarantee.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
