Product Description
Korg SDD-3000 Digital Delay rack for sale in excellent condition and perfect working order following a full service.
Famously used by The Edge, Daniel Lanois, and Ed O'Brien (among others) - not only for the delays, but because of the pre-amp section which is highly-revered and much copied/cloned (even Korg themselves produced a reissue version). Not bad for a mono 13bit digital delay that’s over 40 years old…
It was when The Edge started using an SDD-3000 for the recording of U2’s The Unforgettable Fire that the legend was born - Daniel Lanois was smitten by what he heard and started using one. Many have since followed and this humble rack unit has earned its place in the pantheon of hallowed classic delays.
Many units are showing their age now and reliability can be an issue but this one's been serviced to the highest standard required to bring it back to top operating condition. It’s getting harder to find a good example like this because they are so highly sought-after. In use, it’s easy to see why: such a versatile effect with fabulous percussive and crunchy delays, flanging, plus of course that dynamic and responsive pre-amp.
While it has a few minor scuffs and scratches, overall it’s in superb condition for a unit that's 40 plus years old.
