Product Description
Korg ARP 2600 FS for sale.
Full working order: the original owner only played it for a few hours before putting it back in the flightcase so came to us almost unused.
While it's not identical to an original 2600, it is perhaps what Arp would aspire to build if they were still around to make a reissue. The build quality and attention to detail is exceptional, and where it veers away from the original design, you find well-considered changes and functional upgrades. It feels more robust and solid than the originals possibly ever did, even when new. This is the first time we've encountered a reissue of a vintage synth and come away saying we might prefer owning it to an original.
Vintage 2600s can be a world of trouble unless completely gone through by a competent tech who really knows them (not too many of those around now - plenty who talk a good game). So many carry a multitude of issues and no two are likely to sound the same (nor make the same sound twice!). Standing in front of this fine newly-built instrument is an emotional experience. This is a remarkable achievement and Korg deserve every possible plaudit for bringing the 2600 into the 21st century: they have created a true classic which is every bit as desirable as an original.
Full spec on the Korg site.
