1963 Vox Echo Reverberation Unit (JMI)
For sale serviced and sympathetically-restored; in stunning condition and sounding fantastic. Popularly-known as the Cliff Richard Reverb and manufactured by JMI under the Vox brand, this is an all-valve (tube) spring reverb (not an echo!).
Important note: this is a clearance item at a reduced price. It's been worked on but since then we've not had time to use it (or sell it!) so it may be that it needs some minor work to get the best out of it. It is however serviced and functional.
European buyers have the standard 14 days right of return with this item, however there is no further warranty.
JMI used four delicate ACOS phono cartridges as transducers/pickups for the spring tank; being crystal-based, these have invariably not withstood the test of time and are no longer available. Our tech has carefully installed suitable replacements and the results are stunning. Some minor out of spec components have been changed including a few of the valves - it now boasts a full complement of Mullards. Replaced valve screening cans. All other internal components are original and it is in superb cosmetic condition - there can be few other unrestored examples as good as this left in the world.
If you want to see the original Cliff Richard ad endorsing the Vox Reverb then visit the peerless Vox Showroom website - see their full Vox-Echo page here - there's also plenty more great info on this unit on their site.
