Product Description
EMS Synthi AKS for sale in excellent working order following a thorough overhaul. (Photos taken before overhaul - minor cosmetic flaws will be rectified in the service, including the bent switch).
We are selling this on behalf of the wife of the original owner who purchased it in London in June 1973. It's spent the best part of 40 years dry stored in the loft of their home and is in excellent condition overall.
Delivery time will depend on the service schedule and on the buyer's choice of modifications but is expected to be complete by mid-late June.
While everything will be been done to ensure this synth is in excellent order functionally, this is a vintage Synthi and some occasional foibles may be expected. We take the view that servicing on these units should be sympathetic - recapping where necessary, but also keeping as many original parts in the audio path to retain character, even if it results in occasional minor flaws. We've seen some restored to the point where they become a little too predictable, which in our view is not why you want a Synthi!
These synths should be used regularly for best performance - just like a classic car or bike needs a run out to stay in good shape.
It is a joy to play. Demos below are of other AKS we have sold in the past.
Commission sale on behalf of a client. If you have gear that you want us to look at selling on your behalf then please look at our Commission & Consignment page for more information and get in touch to discuss your requirements.
