Vintage DeArmond Model 610 Volume Tone Effects Pedal for sale in fair vintage condition and good operational order.
These pedals are far from common and predate the wah-wah by some years. We've all fallen for it somewhat - a very clever and distinctive expresssion pedal that is engaging and inspiring to use.
The DeArmond 610 is a unique vintage guitar pedal. The treadle moves in three dimensions: up/down for the volume control and also sideways - left/right - for a sweepable tone effect.
The Tone effect falls between a guitar's tone control and a wah pedal. It is passive (so no power/batteries required) so doesn't boost any frequencies (like a wah), but it does offer a wide range of sounds/tones.
According to the gear historians at Led-Zeppelin.org, Jimmy Page started using his DeArmond 610 in recording studio session work beginning in the early 1960s. Page can be heard using the DeArmond 610 on Brenda Lee's Hit Song "Is It True?"
For the Hank Marvin and The Shadows fans – Hank used this pedal from circa 1965 to the early 70’s. Great songs such as ‘A Place in the Sun’ and ‘Maroc 7’ utilise this effect pedal’s unique tonal capabilities.
