Only around 150 muSonics Model Ds were built, and we suspect this could be the best original/unrestored example to have come to market in the past ten years. The original owner played it for a couple of years in high school and college before dry-storing in its original (now re-foamed) case for forty years. It could well be the only one in the world left in this condition.

It's hard to overstate the importance of this find - a truly near mint Minimoog from the short-lived "muSonics" era. These early Model Ds are amazing instruments and sound fabulous.

This 1972 muSonics Minimoog looks so unbelievably fresh we had to do a double take when it arrived - all the switches and controls look and feel like they were manufactured yesterday. The internal surfaces were unbelievably-clean when it arrived - so much so, that it took a good few moments before we realised this was indeed the original case, rather than a brand new replacement.

Complete with original (re-foamed) road case.

It has had a full and sympathetic electrical overhaul and calibration to ensure maximum playability and reliability - this is an instrument that should be played and enjoyed, in spite of its museum quality. An octave buffer board has been installed.

We have not undertaken any external refurbishment beyond very minor gentle cleaning. There are some small marks to the wooden case which could be repaired/polished out should the buyer so desire, but we preferred to leave it as original as possible. The original black foam in the road case had long since deteriorated and had been replaced by the original owner.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or wish to see any further photos (internal photos will follow in early January).

It is a 110v model.

A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.

We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
