FENDER DELUXE 5E3 TWEED Narrow Panel (1958)
1958 Fender Deluxe Tweed amp. Model 5E3 - this is the amp of choice for Neil Young and Daniel Lanois...
There's general wear and loss of tweed on most corners, plus numerous cigarette burns on top and one on the left rear side.
Other than the burns and scuffing the amp has been well cared-for: the original owner kept it covered when not in use.
The cover is included with the amp, but it’s starting to fall apart.
Our tech has just earthed it and replaced the bad cap.
The previous owner had his tech service it before we bought it a few months ago, work done was as follows:
"Cleaned the input jack contacts, tube sockets, and controls; replaced the leather handle with a reproduction as the original was missing; replaced the on bulb and replaced the missing shield on the pre amp tube."
The chrome, lettering and grille are in excellent condition.
Components appear original and in good condition. The inside is very clean.
Serial number C005839.
Power transformer Triad - 6452L, Output Trans. A108.
Speaker Codes 220749 Jensen - 1957, 49th week (Type P12R - C5916).
The amp sounds great and plays well. Get in touch with any questions/offers.
It is of course a USA 110v mains unit so will require a step-down transformer for UK/EU use.
