British-made Watkins Clubman valve (tube) amp in well-used cosmetic condition and excellent working order. It sounds absolutely stunning, has just been serviced and is working well - a great little amp and a joy to play through. Don't be fooled by its staid looks - this little amp can snarl and growl with the best of them. This one's from our studio collection - mic it up and be amazed at how big it can sound: a great recording amp that breaks up in raucous fashion and nails that dirty blues/rock sound (cheaper than an original Tweed Fender Champ too). A true gem.
Dating from around 1960-3, this little 6w amp has got plenty of battle scars including the obligatory fag burns, and at some point someone's added an external speaker extension socket. See photos below.
These little amps represent great value: a true hand-built valve-rectified vintage amp that can snarl and growl with the best of them and is capable of holding its own against amps costing twice as much. The 6w output makes it a perfect for recording or home playing - enjoy low sound levels without sacrificing tone or feel. Mic it up and be amazed at how big it can sound: a great recording amp that breaks up in raucous fashion and really nails that dirty blues/rock crunch and cheaper than an original Tweed Fender Champ (see our other listings). A true gem.
This is a UK 240v mains-powered model and will require a step-up transformer for operation in countries with 110-117v mains supplies.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
