WEM (Watkins) Clubman
Superb little 70s transistor amp from Watkins - serviced and working well - this Clubman sounds absolutely great when pushed - 1976 all over again...
No valves here, just dirty transistors - these are great amps to crank up and overdrive - breaks up really well for classic rock/blues/punk tones at sensible listening levels. Perfect for home use and sounds immense when mic'd up in the studio.
In good condition, showing signs of age. A few tears and dings on the corners and edges - see detailed photos.
From our studio collection: a great recording amp that breaks up in raucous fashion. We spent quite a bit having it rebuilt because we loved the sound so much. Very useful if you want to record big-sounding guitars at lower levels. Don't be fooled by its diminutive stature and staid looks - push it hard, mic it up and hide it behind a Marshall stack...
This is a UK 240v mains-powered model and will require a step-up transformer for operation in countries with 110-117v mains supplies.
