When I first saw one of these, I thought it’d be a poor relation to the Mk2 Copicat as it was obviously designed to cash in on the success of Hank Marvin and The Shadows. Unlike the Mk2 it has only two replay heads, but they are the later improved heads and sound superb. There’s Mullard ECC83 valves inside and this unit does sound very good indeed - more like a Custom Copicat than a Mk2. The preamp section is lovely - great tone.
It’s been serviced, fitted with an earthed mains cable for electrical safety and is ready to rock.
It's fitted with a new WEM tape loop - Copicats need regular tape changes - ask for details of extra replacement loops when buying.
We're tape and disc echo specialists and always have a good selection of vintage echo machines. Check out our other listings for fully-serviced Binsons, Copicats, Echoplexes and Roland Space/Chorus Echoes.
As business sellers, we've sold many tape echoes in the past ten years; we understand how they should sound and function.
We guarantee that this machine will not disappoint.
In very good condition for age - plastic vent on underside is slightly damaged, case has some tape to the edges. Heads appear quite worn, but sound very good.
It is a UK 240v model so will require a step-up transformer for use in countries with 100-110v mains supplies; the UK plug will be removed for overseas deliveries unless otherwise requested (will be left on for USA/Canada/Japan).

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
