Soundgas Tortured Circuits Beats For Crate Diggers 01 - featuring Audio.Computer Beat Friend & Soundgas Type 636P preamp.

The latest release in the Soundgas Tortured Circuits series is inspired by old school vinyl DJ records of drumbeats. Rather than creating jams and then cutting them up into short loops and one-shots, you get the longer form beats for DJing, jamming over, cutting up for sampling , or just for your listening pleasure.

Here Tony Miln takes an Audio.Computer Beat Friend drum machine and drives it through a Soundgas Type 636P preamp using a Digitech Whammy pedal, Expedition Electronics 60 Second Discrete (the new version of the 60 Second Deluxe), Soundgas Roland Stereo Space Echo and Chase Bliss Big Time delay and CXM1978 reverb - all summed/recorded through a vintage Tascam M-208 mixer and given some tape-style saturation and compression courtesy of the Handsome Audio Zulu.

There are two versions of nine beats taken from six sessions - a stereo version with send effects through the desk/Zulu as well as the direct out mono recording of the Beat Friend into Whammy, 60 Second Discrete and Soundgas Type 636P.

These selections have been chosen for the wide variety of sounds/loops available and range from around a minute to over five minutes in length - they cover a lot of ground sonically and rhythmically. 

The Beat Friend is tweaked and cajoled into some wild and wonky rhythms and the Whammy and 60 Second Discrete twist things further.
