Why do we do this?
Every month we test all kinds of vintage music gear as part of the process of either researching it, testing it after servicing, or preparing items for shipping to their new owner. We post some of these tests on social media, and we get a steady stream of requests from people wanting to get hold of the recordings - this was a way to make those sounds available.
What do you get?
- Over an hour of wav files.
- A fresh batch of sounds every month.
- Some will be beats; some will be other sounds.
- Some will be loops; some will be more abstract.
- Some will be pretty clean and have been "tidied up" in various ways; others will be pretty raw, straight from the bench with noise and other artefacts.
- Some will be fairly unprocessed - maybe a vintage drum machine being put through its paces; others will could be pretty extreme - chains of a few effects being pushed hard to see what happens when they are used in ways radically different from the designers' intentions...
Can I hear examples?
Best thing to do is scroll through our instagram feed. A lot of what we use will be what has been popular on there.

You can use these files royalty-free for your own compositions, listening, remixing, DJing/broadcasting. We would appreciate that you credit us in any compositions/mixes: "Soundgas Sounds".
You can create, produce, and release your own productions without paying Soundgas any royalties. Our products are "license free" or "royalty free" because you buy the license to use our sounds when you pay for the download subscription. The only thing you are not able to make with our products is a sample library like the ones we sell. You can't resell, loan, or rent any of the Soundgas Sounds you have purchased.
