'Poor Man's Tweed'

Offered for sale is this Silvertone 1482 valve (tube) amp from the sixties (c1963) in good cosmetic condition and excellent working order (please see detailed photos below). This 15 watt amp has a 12" speaker and was made for Sears by Danelectro. It features one microphone and two instrument inputs, as well as a brutal tremolo with controls for speed and depth (with a socket for the footswitch - not included). It is in good condition and has been serviced and fitted with a 3-core earthed mains cable for safety. Most of the vales are original Silvertone-branded made in the USA (probably by RCA), but the knobs are new replacements.
This vintage amp is an original USA 110v model and will require a step-down transformer to operate at 240v (available online).
These amps are renowned as being the poor man's tweed deluxe, and this one does not disappoint - has a rich thick vintage tone that breaks up nicely when pushed - works well with pedals and makes a fantastic harp amp. The Tremolo is pretty unique and a joy to play with. These amps were made by Danelectro for the Sears catalogue and are what many aspiring US musicians cut their teeth on: among many others, Jack White uses Silvertone amps. Chuck it in your pick-up and away you go...
