A great example of the RE-501 Chorus Echo, for sale serviced and in excellent working order. Sounding as good as they get and working very well following a full service by our tape echo specialist with various new parts as required, including new tape.
Original 220v machine. A step-up transformer will be required for use in North America.
CONDITION: Very good overall, especially for a European voltage machine. Has some signs of age/use to the face, including some barely visible text beside the Roland logo. The case is good but with with scuffs on the corners and along the top; these have been painted over. The internal surfaces and metal sections of the unit are very clean with no visible oxidation. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
We're tape and disc echo specialists with many years' experience working with and restoring these machines. Our BBC-trained engineer brings our tape delays up to (or better than) factory spec and our testing ensures machines that have superb reliability and - most important - that they sound incredible. Guaranteed to give reliable service and sound superb.
Visit our in-depth Roland tape echo information pages now for everything you need to know about these machines.
REPLACEMENT TAPES: We could (and indeed we have begun to) write a lot about our journeys in tape and the misinformation and poor quality tapes that seem to fill the internet. But for now you can buy tried and tested replacement Roland tape loops from us (they are supplied by Echofix). These are the only tapes we recommend for use in our machines. We may also have a very limited supply of sealed original NOS RT1-L tapes - see our store or get in touch.
There are currently no operational issues with this machine, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance are key to keeping this in good working order.
Some crackle is always possible from pots/switches when not used for a while - this can be cleared with use.

"Excellent equipment, wonderful service. I fully recommend Soundgas to anyone in the vintage gear market and I will definitely be a return customer. The gear itself was exactly as advertised and in great condition."
DAVID WRENCH
“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
TOM JOHNSTON

“Imagine the perfect eBay.... with everything you never knew you wanted… and you can rest assured that your vintage and rare wobbly sound device will turn up on time and in one piece and possibly in even better condition that when it left the workshop. Soundgas - literally amazing."
