For sale: an exceptional Roland RE-201 Space Echo, complete with original Roland vinyl cover and footswitch. This is one of the sharpest and best-performing units we've had through the workshop in some time – fully serviced, tested, and backed by our 12-month warranty.

This unit has been fitted with our celebrated early preamp mod, recreating the tone and response of the most sought-after original RE-201s (which are hard to find in good order now as their motors were prone to failure). The result is a richer, warmer sound with enhanced presence and more musical repeats (less gritty than a regular 201). It is ideal for studio use on guitar, piano, synths, vocals, drums and more.

Overall it is very clean indeed and presents extremely well. There is some yellowing to the knobs and a few minor scratches to the faceplate, especially around the left hand input socket and the nuts around the sockets show some oxidisation.

Fully serviced by the Soundgas techs, with new and refurbished parts fitted as required. The tape transport has been overhauled, heads aligned and cleaned, and everything calibrated for optimum performance. The classic spring reverb, multi-head tape delay, and characterful preamp saturation are all as close to, or better than, factory as possible.

Condition
