First produced in 1951 for use as a broadcast limiter in radio stations, the BA6A found favour with the likes of Jimmy Page and Dave Gilmour and makes a superb guitar compressor, however it can work wonders on vocals, bass, kick and snare as well.
The BA6A is a balanced, three-stage amplifier employing 9 tubes including rectifier and voltage regulator. It is definitely more compressor than limiter, and has a unique sound that has not been modelled in any plug in.
