“I’ve been a fan of Chris Vincent’s work as R2R Electric for some time: his workmanship and attention to detail is exceptional, and I'm very fortunate to have a few of his effects in my collection (yet always seem to be able to justify buying just one more!). His mission to rescue original components and use them to create these truly authentic vintage pedals is inspiring, and his mantra of "I only sell products that I would be excited to buy for myself" certainly resonates with us here at Soundgas.
I am delighted that Chris has trusted us to sell these six unique Supa MkII Fuzz pedals on his behalf. I have to confess to having two different ones already myself. I’d bought one (which I love) and asked Chris to build us another for the site (I do hope Jo isn’t reading this) which I ended up falling for and have so far been unable to let it go.”
These particular pedals hark back to the original ethos of R2R which was to use components taken from individual donor machines and create ‘single origin’ effects with truly unique authentic vintage character.
Chris says:
“Each of these six Aged Supa MKII Fuzz pedals is built with parts harvested from a single 1960’s donor machine and vintage/ NOS potentiometers. Each part is carefully removed, tested and matched to achieve the best possible tone.
The enclosures were expertly hand aged by Matt Seppi of Blackstrap Electrik. Matt is a fuzz master and devout student of all things vintage pedal related. These enclosures each have their own distinct personality and the tone of each was carefully tuned to match the vibe I felt from each enclosure.
I’m super proud of these pedals, built in the original style of R2R. My original dream was to take apart old audio equipment and repurpose it into a vintage circuit. Over the years as demand increased and I slowly moved towards NOS parts, I still try to take the time and salvage parts from as many machines as I can. I love bringing new purpose to vintage electronics, they still have plenty of life left in them. Thank you for checking out this limited series Aged Supa MKII Fuzz”
