Musitronics Mu-Tron Bi-Phase with C-100 Opti-Pot Pedal
Musitronics Mu-Tron Bi-Phase with C-100 Opti-Pot Pedal
Brand: Musitronics
Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).
Complete with the rare Opti-Pot controller. Serviced, calibrated and in full working order - sounds superb.
The condition is good with the usual signs of age. There are scratches, scrapes and dings to the case, but it's built like a tank and nothing affects the operation. The knobs have some wear and the tops have been re-painted black to cover minor scratches. Click on the photos to zoom in and see more shots. The Opti-Pot pedal has been modified to offer greater sweep than the original (now sweeps as much as the pots on the unit) - very cool.
Freshly-serviced and calibrated by our tech - sounds spot on.
Converted to 240v (can be swapped back to 110v if needed).
We love Bi-Phases (it's in our top three phasers for sure) and we're not alone: not only are they a staple effect of many dub reggae producers (Lee Perry most notably), but they're widely-used with guitars/synths/keys etc in a wide variety of genres. A truly legendary effect.
We are big Mutron fans and usually have several other Musitronics pedals, including the Mu-tron III, Phasor, Phasor II and Octave Divider - see all our Mu-tron listings here
As used by the Smashing Pumpkins on Siamese Dream:
"This is one of the secrets to our secret sound. This is the Mutron Biphase. We run everything through it - everything. It's fabulous" - Butch Vig
And of course, Lee Perry and many dub/reggae artists that have followed - hi-hats, guitars, keys all sound 'proper' through a Bi-Phase...

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
