Maestro Rhythm King MRK-2.
Serviced and working well. Love the sound of these Maestros.
Almost identical to the MRK-1 machine used by Sly and the Family Stone on “There’s A Riot Going On” and many more artists besides (Beck loves his). The MRK-2 has the added "Balance" control (basically a tone control that increases/decreases the cymbal sounds), plus the "Paso Doble" rhythm is replaced by "Swing 2". Here's a handy picture of a 1 and 2 side by side on our Instagram feed.
Serviced, checked for electrical safety and working well. Footswitch had been replaced with a new one - it's basic but it works and fits in the storage slot at the back.
In very good condition with scuffs and scrapes to the face but overall very clean for a 50 year old machine. The Tolex is worn and there is some minor damage around the corners and along one bottom edge of case where it has been re-glued. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
