Maestro PS-1B Phase Shifter
A fully serviced example of this rare version of the classic Maestro phaser. The PS-1B is the same as a PS-1A but the with addition of a knob to give variable phasing rate.
The PS-1A is still one of our "go to" phasers and had plenty of the the standard PS-1A units through. Produced in the 70s and designed by Tom Oberheim, they have a fabulous lush warm sound and three switchable settings.
This is the first one of these we've had and after testing we can report that the variable speed control on this model gives access to a full range of phasing between the Slow and Fast settings (so it effectively overrides the switches).
It's just been serviced and calibrated and fitted with an earthed mains cable. It's a US 110v model that’s been converted to 240v for UK/EU use.
The condition is good overall; it has scuffs and wear to the case as you would expect, mostly on the edges. Note that the speed control knob is not the original one. Please see detailed photos to assess condition for yourself (click the photo to see a larger image).
This pedal is in excellent working order - no noisy switch issues.
(Please note: it is always possible with vintage equipment that some crackly pots/sliders may develop over time when equipment has not been used - even during shipping - this can usually be easily rectified either by use or with a bit of switch-cleaning spray).
