Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).

Analogue drum machine modded with individual outs/triggers on the rear and rotary tweaking pots on top. Demo videos below.

to quote our usual listing for one of these (un-modded): "This iconic and unique-sounding analogue beat box was famously-used by Jean-Michel Jarre on his Oxygene album. They may seem simple but they just have "that sound" and we have a real soft spot for them and always have one in the studio. Standard preset rhythms can be modified by simultaneously pressing combinations of buttons. The "Quijada" sound is instantly-recognisable and unique to the Mini Pops..."

Well, it was. But where's the fun in that? We got one of techs to mod this one to give external access to the internal trim pots and also separate outputs so you can use them as triggers. It's turned a good drum machine in OK condition into a box with all sorts of creative possibilities. See the demos below which only use the tweaking pots. If we have it for long enough we'll do some trigger demos with it with a Simmons or an Ult Sound drum synth.

The four pots give control of:
  • Quijada pitch
  • Tambourine noise
  • Guiro sustain
  • Guiro pitch
And on the rear you have separate trigger outputs for:
  • Quijada
  • Guiro
  • Tamourine
  • Bass drum
  • Cymbal.

Condition is OK with some signs of age - see the photos for more information (but we wouldn't have let our guy loose on a mint one of these!).

Price includes VAT at 20% (for sales in UK/EU) - buyers outside the EU please contact us for tax-free prices. VAT-free sales possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number.

  • It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
  • A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
  • We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
