Hawk HE-2250 5-Head/2-Channel Echo Unit
This is quite simply a stunning 70s stereo tape echo. This is not just another Space Echo with some slightly tweaked features, but a genuine stereo machine with some unique abilities.
We're big fans of much of the output from the Japanese producers of the Hawk (aka Mirano) gear but with this HE-2250 they definitely did something special. The only issue is that we can't easily grab a quick demo that really shows what it can do because Instagram videos (where we put up our quick try-outs of new gear) are in mono. However, we have put one below to give some idea, and we've recorded some stereo audio-only demos it and if you want to hear them then get in touch.
We'll add some more information about this machine soon - the "mirage" and "reverse" functions could do with some explanation. But this is a very well designed and built, and superb-sounding, piece of kit.
And not only that but it has the looks to match and the condition is superb - pretty remarkable for a unit from the 70s.
It has had a full service, followed by some thorough testing from Tony (before we had to prise him away from it).
Condition is excellent. Had just a few small scuffs and dings that show the age, plus yellowing of the push buttons.

- It is a 100v Japanese model and needs to be run at 100v only
- A step-down transformer is required for use on North American or European supplies..
- We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers - for 220/240v mains we can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required; for use on 120v supplies we recommend a converter like this.
