Stunning-looking vintage tobacco burst Japanese Stratocaster copy from the 70s with scalloped fretboard.
This is a gorgeous-looking vintage guitar. Has just had a full set-up and is playing well, though it's had the fretboard scalloped for that Yngwie Malmsteen look/feel so you'll need a light touch to play this well.
These "Lawsuit" era copies date from the time when the Japanese factories were making high quality instruments, if a little too close to the originals for Fender's liking.
Condition Report:
Head is in good condition with a few small chips and dings towards the top. Neck is in fair condition with the back showing numerous dings, showing its age. At some point someone has filed the frets down to make sliding easier, as shown in the photos. The body is in fair condition with dings and scratches showing up throughout. From the photos you can also see that the guitar is missing its backplate. The metal parts of the guitar show obvious signs of oxidation. Click on the photos to zoom in and see more shots.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
