Gates Dynamote Mixer M-4880

Gates Dynamote M-4880 4x1 valve (tube) console for sale. Dates from c1954.

Complete with the front and back covers for the carry case - this manufactured as a portable mixer for broadcast use.

Packing microphone preamps, a master output (with multiple line outs) and a headphone output, these are incredible sounding mixers: transformer balanced with Triads on the input and output. The fold-away VU meter is a nice touch. The mixer combines 4 mic inputs into one output. The output is selectable between two independent line outputs. The headphone out can be selected to monitor either of these two outputs.

Service work includes undoing much of previous techs' less than stellar work and making the unit electrically safe, including:

• Old partially removed (snipped) resistors replaced and tracks repaired.


• Multi can smoothing caps replaced, custom PCBs made and mounted on top side of the PCB.


• PSU re-wired and made safe.

Condition

In very good cosmetic condition for its age with scuffs and scratches around the edge of the face. The case is clean with wear and damage around the edges and corners. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information on condition.

Voltage Information

110v model. A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU. We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
