Fender Stratocaster (1972) with Original Case
Fender Stratocaster (1972) with Original Case
Brand: Fender
Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).
This lovely '72 Strat has come to us on consignment - we'd love to keep it, but it's beyond our budget. Beautifully light, with that unmistakable look and feel of a guitar that's had a few decades to mature.
This Sunburst Strat is unusually light for a seventies Fender; it plays very well and sounds superb. The seller purchased this from No.Tom Guitars in Denmark street in 2013 (we have a copy of the receipt) and states that everything's original apart from plastic trem cover on the back. We've examined it detail and it is indeed original - see the internal photos of pots, neck pocket etc.
Comes complete with original Fender hard case.
Made with a solid alder body and a maple neck including maple fingerboard (uncommon on 70s strats). Features a bolt-on neck (including the three-bolt neck plate introduced by Fender in '71), dot inlays and 3 single-coil pickups.
In good worn/vintage condition, this guitar oozes character and plays beautifully. The neck is in excellent condition. The photos hopefully speak for themselves - click on them to zoom in and see more shots including detailed internal shots.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
