Also featuring analogue filter, tape simulation, inductor‑based eq and apparently vintage germanium preamp (not that we could determine evidence of the latter on brief inspection of the circuitboard - spray painted black to hide values). Apparently Deadmau5 is a fan (so we're told) amongst other electronic music cognoscenti.
The design is the height of nineties bling: wood laminated front panel, red enclosure and all manner of odd clear off-centre knobs that light up in time with the signal. Restrained it ain't. In fairness, this matches the sonics - in dollops it's totally wild and things get fierce and gnarly very quickly, but ease back and some very tasty tones can be had - the DI can yield pleasing results with bass, guitar, keys etc, but it seems destined for the more riotous end of the music spectrum. Wouldn't surprise us to see a bank of them in the Prodigy's studio...
