These original EMS processors do not come up for sale often: to find a set of four is very uncommon indeed.
These are for sale in working order and would make a perfect compliment for your VCS3 or Synthi A or AKS (if you need one of these, please get in touch as we have stock arriving soon).
The 8 Octave Filter Bank is a particular favourite of ours and was developed for use with the EMS Synthi 100 (but of course can be used with other devices). It offers eight resonating filters at fixed frequencies one octave apart (hence the name) and is capable of the most pleasing and musical results. It allows you to highlight (or reduce/remove) selected frequencies in the source material and sounds truly wonderful. The octave centre frequencies are 63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz 4000Hz and 8000Hz. Further info/spec can be found here.
The Random Voltage Generator is a fabulous unit - for those who enjoy a little random chaos in their music. You can find the original spec/details here, but for those remaining confused as to exactly what it does, there's an excellent demo on Youtube which is far more informative than any amount of written waffle!
The Pitch To Voltage Control unit is EMS's take on pitch to cv - with additional features. More info here.
The Triple Slew Limiter is essentially a portamento circuit and acts like a very simple low pass filter without resonance. All the sharp edges of a step waveform (square wave) become smoother transitions with more rate applied.
Voltage: currently set to N America 110v. May be switchable internally to 240v.
