Product Description
ElectroComp Model EML-200 modular synth & Model EML-300 manual controller for sale.
First produced in 1969, at the time this had some cutting-edge features combined with a simple and highly flexible design in keeping with its primary purpose being for use in educational establishments. You'll find more info about Electronic Music Labs in the usual places online, but what makes them interesting to us is the fact that these were designed by industrial designers rather than musicians per se, so they function and sound quite different to the ARPs and Moogs of the same era.
The Model 200 requires an external controller for use. The Model 300 was produced for this purpose and includes a 4x4 key matrix with pitch knobs which effectively allows you to play it like a proto-MPC pad controller. Additionally it has an oscillator with envelope generator and VCA of its own.
You can use the 200 with other analogue synths however the oscillators are a non-standard 1.20v/octave so you need modified CV/Gate connections and converters.
This is a commission sale item however because of its rarity we have opted to perform an initial service and have succeeded in getting it all working (with the exception of the reverb which we will complete shortly). This was mostly recapping, cleaning and calibration.
Note that some controls are still crackling, but this is through lack of use and now what this synth really needs to is to be put to work in order to clear them!
Commission sale on behalf of a client. Payment will be made to us but will be held in our client account for the seller until the buyer confirms satisfactory receipt of the item. The buyer has 14 days from receipt to raise any concerns, after which we will release funds to the seller. Full terms available on request.
If you have gear that you want us to look at selling on your behalf then please look at our Commission & Consignment page for more information and get in touch to discuss your requirements.
