Roland TR-808 in reasonable cosmetic condition and perfect working order.
It's just had a thorough service by a top synth technician- including lengthy soak-testing and a PAT-test for electrical safety. This level of servicing does not come cheap but as a result, this machine should not let you down. If it does fail within 6 months of home studio use, we guarantee to put it right (EU only).
Overall, this 808 presents very well - but on close inspection you can see it’s had a full life. There are the inevitable scuffs, scratches and small patches of oxidation to the finish you'd expect from a 30 year old machine. Some of the worst scratches have been touched up which has improved the appearance. Some of the small orange- and white-topped pots have minor damage to the black plastic on the very top of the pot - this is very common on 808s and is hard to spot, but is clearly shown on a couple of the close up photos below. The plastic end cheeks are scratched as you’d expect. However, as can be seen from the many detailed photos above and below, it still looks pretty good. Of course none of this affects operation - it is a joy to program and tweak and it sounds huge - the analogue sounds all have that larger than life quality that only comes from using a real 808.
It is a UK 240v model so a step-up transformer will be required for USA/Canada.
We've sold many 808s to satisfied customers in the past so buy with confidence.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
