Beautifully restored and maintained two track 1/4 inch 351 tape machine for sale. From a working studio that is upgrading to a four track version.
Information from the current owner:
This machine has served me very well over the years. These preamps sound good on any source but the real magic is with the full machine.
I’ve used this on tons of records as this has been the heart and soul of my studio for many years.
Maintained meticulously in a smoke free space. Some records I’ve used this on are:
Porches “Slowdance in the Cosmos”
Frankie Cosmos, “Next Thing” and “Vessel”
Sheer Mag “I”, “II” and “III” as well as “Need To Feel Your Love”
Frank Hurricane “Love Ya, Love Ya.”
Old Lady “Truck Stop Thrills”
Fantastic for mixdown, live recording or as standalone mic preamps this thing does it all! Perfectly balanced beautiful lush audio.
The only reason I’m selling this machine is because I found a 351 four track and I don’t have the space for both.
The 351 has been an industry standard for many decades and will for many more!

- Calibrated for new ATR Magnetics tape.
- New Nichicon and Illinois capacitors throughout.
- Completely rebuilt power supplies for each of the electronics.
- Transport has been updated and recapped throughout.
- Heads have been relapped by John at JRF Magnetic and have a long life ahead
