Ace Tone FR-6 analogue drum machine for sale.
Ace Tone Rhythm Aces were the direct ancestors of the mighty Roland TR and CR series of drum machines. You might be forgiven for thinking that the various "FR" range of Ace Tone boxes are basically the same machine in a different case, but this is not the case - the circuits have plenty of similarities, but differences in design and components can mean they don't all sound alike (the use of different components may have been driven by nothing more than what was available at the time of course!). These sound different to other Ace Tones we've had; very clear and punchy with some real bite to the claves and tom sounds.
The range of rhythms isn't exactly huge but you can generate some interesting combinations and jam along with the usual multiple button presses and the variation selector knob.
Serviced; the transformer was dead but we have fitted a new replacement which means it can now be switched internally between 120v and 240v (we will do this before it ships!).
