Ace Tone Rhythm Ace FR-3
Ace Tone Rhythm Ace FR-3
Brand: Ace Tone
Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).
Excellent condition for it's 45 or so years; serviced and ready to rock the party.
NOTE: quick photo - please ask if you need more shots (but condition speaks for itself!)
Ace Tone Rhythm Aces were the direct ancestors of the mighty Roland TR series of drum machines and this bears more than a passing similarity to the layout of the TR-55.
Sonically, the Ace Toen FR-3 is a real treat - lovely warm analogue beats that have a pleasing 'woody' tone to them - and it's not marred by any noticeable age-related artefacts. The sound is quite distinct from the Roland machines that came later - primitive and full of character.
Working well. Has been serviced by our techs, some capacitors replaced and extensively tested.
CONDITION: Excellent overall; light signs of age (the knob centres always peel on these) as you'd expect but nothing more. See photos for more information on cosmetic condition.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
- It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
- A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
- We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”
