Ace Tone Mighty-5 + Cab
Ace Tone Mighty-5 + Cab
Brand: Ace Tone
Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).
Rare early 60s Japanese valve/tube amplifier. Very unusual to see the cab as well. Also an unusual circuit and (for the era especially) a crisp clean sound. A big, good-looking slab of vintage tone for your money.
Demos below.
These are just quick photos. Please get in touch if you need more shots of this amp.
Looks amazing as well. Would make a great studio amp - a talking point that also does the business when you plug it in.
Ace Tone was the 60s/70s forerunner of Roland. They made a few great amps, most heavily influenced (or in fact just tweaked copies) of US amp circuits. Quality workmanship and great design.
This one has an usual configuration with 3x 12AX7, 1x 6AV6, 1x ECC85 and 2x 50HB26. Has two channels - one for tremolo and one without. Both share the reverb. Has two reverb tanks per channel, but they are pretty short so it's not a killer addition but OK dialled back. Tremolo is pretty good.
For some good info and internal shots we recommend putting this blog post from Gichi at Howl Guitars in Japan through google translate.
Serviced by our amp tech and working well. The usual parts have been replaced to bring it up to full, safe functioning but other than that it is all original.
CONDITION: Has various minor signs of age but nothing serious. A few dings to the edge of the covering on the cab. Overall this is a great looking beast.
Switchable voltage - will be set up for the buyers requirements before shipping.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
This instagram post has three quick demos of the amp:
