PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Pre-order this valve Binson Echorec 2 T7E with super-slow varispeed motor complete with original wooden carry case in excellent condition. Working superbly and sounding stunning following an extensive rebuild. Wet-only output mod on channel 3.

Please note – this is a preorder listing – we will only ship this when we’re completely satisfied that it performs to our high standards. It is unlikely to ship until the end of the first week of September.

NOTE: Photos are of the item for sale. This unit is currently being serviced and varispeed modified and will be available to ship soon.

Demos of a previous machine we sold. This machine will feature our new super-slow varispeed motor option: this offers the full functionality of standard speeds, but with additional super-slow speeds for longer, darker, dirtier repeats. This can get properly gnarly when pushed into distortion at slow speed – demos coming soon. We will also fit a wet-only output to channel 3 for use with a mixing console (or effects loop).

Switchable voltage for worldwide use.

CONDITION: In excellent cosmetic condition for a unit this age. The case is very clean with only a few scuffs around the edges. The face is excellent, there are some very minor scratches scattered across it but nothing that detracts from the overall superb condition of the unit. See photos for additional info.

Our Binsons (especially valve T7E units) sell very quickly, usually before we can get them listed. If you are interested in getting one of these machines serviced and set up to our exacting standards then please get in touch to reserve one **

We may have other models of Binson here now; see our full current stock of tape/disc echoes here. If you have any questions about which delay is best for you then please get in touch as we have many years experience with these machines.

*(demos below are for a previous unit we sold recently)*

Naturally, the axe-slingers amongst you will be drooling over the way these machines languidly exude classic Dave Gilmour/Pink Floyd timbres, but we’re hot under the collar about the way this one reacts to abuse: feed it a hot signal from a drum machine, crank up the input gain and swoon at the rich creamy tube overdrive and filthy distortion on the repeats. Tony’s no stranger to Binson abuse, and he’s been getting busy discovering just how good this one sounds when pushed – demos are doubtless already appearing on our Instagram feed by now.

==========

Binson Echorecs are amazingly-engineered machines: where a tape echo’s input sound is recorded to tape, on a Binson it is recorded onto a circular spinning disc which has replay heads positioned around it. It is possible to select  single and repeating echoes or reverb-like swells – these units have a sound all of their own. They look fantastic at night (or on a darkened stage) with the magic eye valve glowing green and the backlit plexiglass fascia.

Binsons were one of the must-have pieces of equipment for bands in the early sixties, alongside the Fender Stratocaster and Vox AC30. Famously-used and abused by Barrett, Gilmour, Waters and Wright of Pink Floyd in the 60s and early 70s (Echorec 2s are very much in evidence on Live at Pompeii and can be seen on photos from many Floyd live shows), Binsons are increasingly sought-after today by studios, mix engineers and producers for their unique sound: Michael Brauer (Stones, McCartney, Coldplay) famously has an Echorec 2 in his arsenal of vintage delays.
