Product Description
Very similar sonically to the wonderful Model 5, but more compact in size. A handsome mixer that’s a pleasure to own and use.
Features include a flexible 2-band EQ, Tamura transformers and inductors on every channel, plus direct outputs per channel - ideal for use as a preamp/front end for your DAW.
Two of things we love about these mixers:
This mixer is supplied serviced, power supply recapped. All sliders and connections working well. Some crackle can develop, especially with lack of use. This should clear with use or with some switch cleaning spray (we recommend DeOxit).
Below is the introduction from the manual (taken from HiFiEngine.com where you can find the full manual - registration is free):
Fulfilling the needs of people with more talent than money is the fundamental premise on which TEAC Tascam Series recording gear is built.
So we designed the Model 3 to be as versatile as possible. With the right combination of features and functions for home or studio recording, PA or disco mixing.
The Model 3 just about does it all. You'll find it a surprisingly functional mixer.
It is manufactured in our professional products division, and incorporates the same design philosophy as the highly successful TEAC Tascam Series Model 10 mixing console.
Many of the parts, circuits, and production assembly procedures are the same.
Also, the design alternatives that were chosen for cost purposes were exhaustively researched and tested to avoid any compromise in performance.

Two of things we love about these mixers:
- They overdrive really well - push the signal in or ramp up the gain and you are rewarded with thick characterful textures.
- Route a signal through two channels in series (use the direct out of the first channel into the second) to get four band EQ when needed.
