The Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo was the final and most advanced iteration of Roland’s tape echo designs, introduced in 1980 and intended for studio/on stage use. It featured improved electronics for lower noise, along with balanced inputs and outputs. In addition to the multi-head tape echo and spring reverb found in earlier models, the RE-501 includes a classic Roland/Boss BBD-based chorus circuit.

The sound remains unmistakably analogue, but more late 70s early 80s than the 201/301 (think Gilmore/Pink Floyd The Wall and Andy Summers/Police) with distinctive modulation and crisp sound.

Condition

In very good overall cosmetic condition. Some marks on the faceplate where there may be some oxidisation under the surface of the paint. A few visible marks on the casing. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information.

Voltage Information

120v model. For UK/EU buyers it will be supplied with a high quality voltage transformer: we do not replace the original transformers in these as new ones tend to hum.
