This is pre-order listing. Lead time on pre-orders is usually around four weeks to allow for our full overhaul and testing process, but at present it may be longer due to unprecedented demand. Please contact us direct if you need a machine urgently.
See below for information on cosmetic condition, however if you want to upgrade to an “excellent” / “near mint” machine this may be possible – please get in touch for availability. We will keep you updated through the process and supply photos for approval prior to shipping.
EARLY PREAMPS? We have modified this to have the same preamp spec as the very early Space Echoes. These clip more evenly and more musically. They also do so at a lower signal strength which gives a little more control; they sound particularly good with guitar. We only do this to machines that are performing extremely well; in particular it is essential that the heads are at peak performance in order to get the full benefit of the modification.

This machine has been given the full Soundgas overhaul by our echo experts which, in addition to a ‘basic’ top service, recapping and set up, includes:
One of our new tapes
One of our pinch rollers – an original pinch roller with a new bearing and new rubber. Time consuming to produce, but only the best will give the best long term performance.
Heads are re-lapped to bring performance to better-than Roland factory spec.
New switchable voltage transformer installed – it will be set up for 120 or 220/240v mains before we ship.
Serviced/rebuilt motor as required.
Every machine is also tested by a musician using their ears as well as our techs using their ‘scopes (all our techs are also musicians) before shipping.
Every one is supplied with 12 months warranty and ongoing service support.

REPLACEMENT TAPES: Fitting any tapes other than those from us or Echo Fix will invalidate the warranty on our machines. We have sourced unused and dry-stored tape stock which is as close to original RT-1L tape formulation as possible (without conclusive confirmation from Roland themselves we cannot describe it as being an exact match) for their original RT-1L replacement loops and limited stocks of our replacement loops are available now. We’ve written a bit about our journeys in tape, which replacement loops to use in your Roland echo, not to mention the misinformation and poor quality tapes that seem to fill the internet. We may also have a very limited supply of sealed original NOS RT1-L tapes – see our store or get in touch.
There are currently no operational issues with this machine, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance are key to keeping this in good working order.
