Klemt NG51 Echolette
Klemt NG51 Echolette
Brand: Klemt
Sorry it's gone. We may have another in stock or on the way. Please enquire below (or check our weekly Gear Update for incoming rarities).
Stunning, uncommon 60s German tape echo. Restored, running well and sounding great with loads of character. Serviced and in great working order - we cannot describe this as perfect working order because one head is less clear than the others, but we've yet to hear one that's been perfect - even following restoration. Tony describes it as one of the two best he's heard; it's one of the most vibey pieces we've heard for a while.
Complete with original power lead and 1/4" input and output lead.
We will add a demo to this listing very soon because, unsurprisingly, when you are dealing with machines of this age every one sounds different. If it is bought before we do this then we will send the buyer a demo so they can hear and approve the unit before it ships. In the meantime, if you have questions please ask.
The Klemt Echolette is a highly prized tape echo/reverb and valve preamp/signal booster. Known as the ‘Gold Box’, it featured prominently in the recordings of the Beatles. This unit is serviced and in great working order and very clean condition with all the original parts, knobs etc. and ‘magic eye’ valve signal indicator.
Condition is excellent. It has the expected scuffs and scrapes to the metal case but the face plate is in excellent shape. Some crackle from the pots is possible, especially when unused for a while - they have been cleaned but are old.
Switchable voltage - we will set it up and change the plug as needed before shipping.

“I’ve bought a number of items from Soundgas recently, and have been really impressed with their service. It takes the stress out of buying vintage gear to know it’s been properly (and faithfully) serviced or restored. Their after-sales service has also been exemplary. Highly recommended.”

“Imagine the perfect eBay.... with everything you never knew you wanted… and you can rest assured that your vintage and rare wobbly sound device will turn up on time and in one piece and possibly in even better condition that when it left the workshop. Soundgas - literally amazing."
