BIAS BS-2 - vintage analogue drum synthesizer

For sale: an uncommon and highly distinctive BIAS BS-2 vintage analogue drum synth in full working order.

With its gleaming chrome finish and more knobs and switches than seems reasonable for such a compact box, the BS-2 offers a surprising level of control and sonic versatility. This is a powerful and expressive analogue percussion synthesizer, capable of creating everything from earth-shaking sub bass to ear-shredding highs – and everything in between. You have been warned.

A firm favourite here at Soundgas, the BS-2 can be triggered via an external source (or footswitch), or simply struck directly – though with care, as it’s not the most robust of builds. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in sonic aggression and character.

The BS-2 is a different circuit to the better-known BIAS B-1, with additional features including:

Effect control for further tonal shaping

Please exercise caution – this little box is capable of extreme frequency ranges. Deep low end and intense highs are well within its reach. They don’t make them like this any more – and it seems they didn’t make many in the first place. These almost never come up for sale.

A brilliant and beautifully chaotic piece of analogue drum synthesis history – serviced and ready to play.

Condition

In excellent condition overall with only minor signs of wear, particularly around the knobs on the chrome faceplate. Please see photos or get in touch if you require more information.

Shipped with a 9v battery and ready to play. Can also be powered by a standard 9V PSU (not supplied).
