Yamaha CS-80 (Number 1: 'Barn Find')

CS-80 available for sale now.

Serial: 1267

One of two Yamaha CS-80s for sale by auction.

This is "Number 1 -Barn Find", the example we could not power up and test due to extensive internal corrosion. This should be viewed as a parts machine, or for display only. Restoration is technically feasible but it is a monumental task that cannot be considered commercially viable at this time.*

*No guarantee or warranty of any kind is implied: this synth is sold as found. We carried out no testing beyond visual inspection: other faults may be present or may arise following transit or further use. We accept no responsibility for errors or faults that were not revealed or apparent during our review. The videos should be taken as a guide only and any opinions expressed therein are personal and not part of the description or contract of sale. This synth is sold as seen and should be regarded as being beyond commercially viable restoration at this time.

Please note we cannot undertake any service/restoration work as our synth queue still stretches into 2023.

This is "Number 1", the un-tested 'barn find' example. You can see the listing for the other CS-80 here (please email for pre-approval if you wish to bid).

Soundgas head synth tech James Walker has performed initial assessments of both synths in situ: the resultant photos and video are in this listing, with even more photos available to view via this link:

SHIPPING will be arranged after the sale. We can ship by van courier to the UK and much of Europe - approximate costs are UK: £100, Europe: £300-£500. For overseas buyers the synth will need to be shipped on a pallet - it's very hard to estimate this as shipping costs are changing so much, however a US buyer should expect a cost of around £1000 (or more).

Condition

In scruffy condition with age and wear across the face and case. Internally, there is a lot of rust and oxidation. Please see the full set of photos here (including full internals) or get in touch if you require more information on condition.

Voltage Information

Switchable voltage for use anywhere in the world.

Tax

Zero rated for VAT.
